This Cheez It recipe is the perfect snack when you are craving something crunchy. Made at home in the air fryer, makes it economical and healthier and so much tastier.

Cheez It recipes do not have to be complicated. This homemade cheez-its recipe takes only a few handy ingredients, are super crispy, and no additives or preservatives that you don’t want.

What You Need to Make this Cheez It Recipe

Cheeze in a white bowl, butter, flour and seasoning to make the crackers.

How to Make Cheez It Recipe- Step by Step

Food processor with all the ingredients in, before and after mixing.
  • Mix: First, in a food processor at low speed, chop the cheese, butter and spices together.
  • Dough:   Second, add the flour and blend and next, add water 1 tablespoon at a time until dough forms.
  • Chill:  Third, cut the dough into 3 dough balls on parchment paper and then cover in plastic wrap and place into fridge for 1-2 hours.
  • Form: Next, flatten each dough ball on a floured surface. Cut to form 1-inch squares.
Cheese rolled out on a tray and in the air fryer ready to cook.
  • Punch: Place in air fryer basket. Finally, using a skewer punch whole in center of cracker to avoid puffing up. 
  • Cook: Lastly, cook on 370 for 6 minutes, shaking basket for even cooking.

  • Bigger: Don’t want the little cracker, you can make them any size that you want such as rectangles. Just adjust your bake time.
  • Pasta Cutter: A knife will work, but a pizza cutter or alternatively, the pasta cutter listed above is adjustable and makes quick work of cutting these cheez it crackers.
  • Hole: To keep them from puffing up do not forget the hole.
  • Rolling out: To get the crispy crunch you desire do not roll the cracker dough to thick. The thinner it is the crispier they will be.
