Holiday season wouldn’t be complete without some pretty cocktails, and these pomegranate maple fizz cocktails are perfect for celebrating.Â
These cocktails can easily be made into a mocktail too, so fear not non-drinkers and young ones! The base for this cocktial is pomegranate juice, which you can make yourself!
To make the pomegranate juice, the arils are whizzed in a blender and then strained through a sieve. That’s the most complicated part of the recipe, but it’s really quick! It takes about 20 seconds in the blender, and I promise making homemade pomegranate juice is so much nicer!
It produces this beautifully pink juice which is then is sweetened with maple syrup. Then all you need to do is add a vodka (which is optional) and some indian tonic water.
It’s sweet, fizzy and super pretty! It’s also secretly addictive, so please be careful if you’re adding vodka! I had a few and they are very drinkable!
To make this a mocktail, just skip the vodka. It’s as simple as that! No need to make two different drinks for drinkers and non drinkers!
As I write this, it is currently 8 days till Christmas. Still no tree up, although we have bought it and I plan on decorating it tomorrow! I also need to plan my Christmas day menu and the one thing I know for sure will be on it is sticky toffee pudding. Oh, and these cocktails!
I’m one of those people who will always be last minute. I’ve been the same since I was a kid, I would do revision last minute at school and homework the night before it’s due. Maybe one year, I’ll have everything ready for Christmas with plenty of time to relax. Maybe.
As always if you make this pomegranate cocktail be sure to leave me a comment, rate this recipe and tag me on Instagram. I love seeing all your photos of my recipe recreations!

Ingredients
- 1 pomegranate
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 500ml indian tonic water
- 2 shots of vodka (optional)
Instructions
Remove the arils from the pomegranate. If you place them in a bowl of water, the fleshy bits will rise to the top and you can scoop them out.
Place the arils in a blender and blitz until it turns into a juice.
Pour into a fine sieve over a mug and discard the seedy pulp. It will produce around a 1/4 cup of pomegranate juice.
Add the maple syrup and stir. Then divide between 4 glasses. Add a shot of vodka (optional) and top with the tonic.
Serve and enjoy!
